Radek Baborak has received a series of accolades, winning the Prague Spring International Competition in 1992, the UNESCO Competition in 1993, and the prestigious ARD Competition in Munich in 1997. He was only 18 years old when he was appointed principal horn of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.

From 1996 to 2000 he was principal horn of the Munich Philharmonic, from 2000 to 2002 he was principal horn of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and from 1998 to 2000 he was guest professor of the Arturo Toscanini Foundation, succeeding Hermann Baumann.

From 2002 to 2011, he was principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Radek Baborák is currently a freelance musician. As a soloist, he has been invited by Daniel Barenboim, Seiji Ozawa, Simon Rattle, Neeme Järvi, James Levine, Vladimir Askhenazy, James de Priest, and Marek Janowski.
